Welcome to West Bengal Zoo Authority
The West Bengal Zoo Authority was constituted as a registered society (vide Gazette notification no. 3382-For; Kolkata, 27th August, 2009) as a government controlled registered society under the Department of Forests, Govt. of West Bengal. The Authority became functional during 2012-13 only. The West Bengal Zoo Authority is governed by a 12 member body headed by the Chief Secretary, Govt. of West Bengal as Chairman and Additional Principal Chief Secretary, Department of Forests, Govt. of West Bengal as the Vice-Chairman. The Member Secretary, West Bengal Zoo Authority is the Chief Executive Officer of the Authority and is assisted by technical and other personnel in day to day functioning of the Authority.
